i thought it was the norm to have this feature in a 3d modelling package - considering nearly Every other modelling package has this ability.

It seems a little odd, that you cant show textured, lightmapped etc in the viewports side, top and front... only perspective.
is this something that may be added in future releases - or have i misse ... |

i removed all materials, and then added them all back, and retextured everything. all was fine.
i guess 1 of the textures was corrupted even though they all were being displayed. |

im trying to export b3d. and i get an error:
Missing Texture Node for texture type layer.
How can i track whats happening here.. i tried replacing some textures, but no luck. |

well, you'd probably know there multiple ways you'd go about it. basically with B3D, you have to realize its limitations. its DX7, and can bog down under some conditions that should seem ok.

when i realized from daaark's post, that the range is actually the red dotted line, i was able to fiddle with settings until i got the line to curve down to zero as close to that red line as possible. ... |
