So!

This is, what I've done the past 10 days. (Testing 1.53 meanwhile Smile )

Burg Eltz (Castle Eltz)

13,500 polygons. (not triangulated, so count it about twice)

Screenshots: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11

I prefer the night pics. If someone has the ambition, time and CPU power to do better day lighting, please do so and post your results here!
I also tried to render it with POVray, using Il Buzzo's exporter, but the rendering window of the exporter was SO slow, I lost patience quite soon.

The map files can be found here. As usual, you have to put the "eltz" folder (in /textures/) into your DeleD\Textures folder.

Let me say thank you to Nocturn, whose freely availabe textures I mostly used in this project. Really great work there.

Enjoy! Very Happy

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Well, what can I say... You know I love this stuff so I can't say anything else but Shocked because I just can't create stuff like that myself. Laughing I especially love the night scenes. Very nice atmosphere! A few stars and possibly a moon might cheer up those pictures even more, but even without them, I really like those pictures. Thumbs up!!! Very Happy

Which one(s) of these pictures here should we use for the gallery? Cool

Those do look great. Smile
I'd export to torque, but I'd be willing to bet that it would crash the exporter. Very Happy
I will try later tho. Smile

I'd say 03 (or 04) and 06, but as I said, I'm not really content with the day lighting (too few planes are darkened there, don't know why) and on the other side, I love all the night shots, although it's lightmapped really simple (no shadows, just a couple of spotlights, I took the first attempt). But I would want to have one day and one night shot in there.
If someone has more skills in lighting things than me, just go ahead.

Oh and, when trying to lightmap it, please delete the three small lightbulbs in the inner courtyard, because they occlude the point lights.
