DeleD 1.42 Released!

Added functionality
- DDS support added to DeleD PRO. Supported encodings currently are the compressed DXT1, DXT3, DXT5 formats and uncompressed RGB and ARGB. Any users with different flavoured DDS files that they would like to see imported, please provide us with relevant files.
- DeleD PRO now loads 8-bit grayscale TGA's (24 and 32 bit already supported)
- Merge DeleD Map files into the existing scene (PRO only).
- Merge Polygon command.
- Align Objects command (PRO only).
- CSG Split command (PRO only).
- Ctrl+H hides the currently selected objects.
- Ctrl+Alt+H unhides every hidden object.
- DeleD checks on invalid polygons when lightmapping the scene. Also, invalid polygons (e.g having less than 3 vertices) are removed when saving to either DMF or prefab.
- Two great new scenes made by Mr. Fletcher: Frauenkirche and Sanssouci Palace

Changed functionality
- Fixed lightmapping shadow casting so that concave objects no longer have self-shadowing artifacts at every edge.
- Lightmaps are now saved with the map name prefixed (f.e. CastleSiege_Lightmap0.bmp). This makes exporting to formats that require all textures to be in one place (like Ogre3D/Blink) a lot more convenient.
- Improved Fill command.
- Any modification done in face mode automatically turns AutoUV off for that object.
- Normal smoothing (crease angle) support in the lightmapper is currently disabled (until we fix erroneous behaviour).

Fixed bugs
- Merge Objects does not remove lights anymore.
- Scaling textures on faces now works with the XYZ constraint buttons also
- Assigning a multi-layer material to a polygon that currently has a single-layer material now works properly.
- Fixed a (buffer overflow) bug where DeleD would crash on loading certain RLE packed TGA files.
- Hide/Freeze commands now hides/freezes the entire selection all the time.

Thanks, guys. I tested for a momment the new merge function for faces and it works fine. But it seems that there is a problem with the 1.42 setup program. I am getting the following message: "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program" from Windows XP. After 3 failed tries i decided to download only the new executable.

Note: The windows explorer indicates 7.06 MB file size for the DeleD 1.42 setup program

That's weird. The LITE version can be downloaded perfectly. Just tried it myself. Or are you a PRO user?

Something went wrong with the upload to DownloadeD. I just re-uploaded the files, tested it by downloading them from DownloadeD again and it seems to work ok now. Please try again!

It's funny how much problems I managed to cause J and PJ, even indirectly. Razz

Relax VD, it's not your textures but all tgas in general, even the default ones in deled:

Wink
J, sorry for posting it here, I guess it must go in the bug reports.

Thanks for the report afecelis, we redesigned the TGA loading routines and something must have gone wrong. We'll look into it pronto and will release a fix asap.

Please report any other 1.42 problems in the Bugs forum. Wink

*ahum*, I caused Jeroen to merge in a piece of code that makes pretty sure the TGA loader doesn't load anything at all, ever (believe it or not, I was test-casing an error-handling mechanism). My mistake, we'll get it back online a.s.a.p.! Embarassed
