|
|
Hi guys!
I've been playing around with blitz3d lately and I've found the b3d format to be very interesting for its ability to load everything in a single file. Deled's b3d exporter is working nicely but transparency is not properly exported.
scene in the editor:
scene in blitz:(lightmaps ok, but no transparency for the glass)
b3d file exported from Giles(transparency ok):
anyone else has had any experience with this?
thanks!

Don't know about the transparency, but aren't the colors on the floor in the gile[s] export a little too bright? The window glass seems rather dark, so light shining through it should be dimmed. Oh well, never mind really, don't want to hack your topic here. |

yup I know Some settings are exaggerated there a bit for testing purposes. I just wanted to grab PJ's attention to see if he knew anything regarding to transparency in exported b3d files |

Afeclis: Thanks for reporting this B3D plugin issue! The plugin is actually a bit older than DeleD's own support for transparency, so this has probably never been tested properly. I will give the exporter a spin and see if I can fix it. |

great PJ! Thanks for looking at it. The b3d plugin can't be in better hands
Let me know if you need scenes or files for testing purposes. |

Thanks!
As expected, the plugin didn't do a thing with transparency. I just quickfixed this. Screenshot:
I also changed the default TextureBlend so Blitz3D's dynamic lights now affect the scene as well (this has been requested a lot). I am now rewriting the export-solid-color-as-texture code to output TGA's (used to write BMP's), allowing for transparent solid-color materials as well. New version will probably be online later today. |
