Ha ATI cards ... Rolling Eyes

Can you see your skybox in the 3D view ?

Do you have the lastest drivers version for your card ?

Are the dimensions of the image in powers of 2?

I am using an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card and have no problem with the skybox.

I am also running XP Pro VPack2.

The graphics I use are 512 x 512 @ around 66KB for each of the 5 images.

I may just mention that I have 1.5Gig memory and a 3GHZ processor. Maybe that is why it works well?

Hope this helps you?

Kind regards Brian

There should be some notes for the users in Deled to use power of 2 textures, or at least something in the help file. It's not obvious to everyone. Even people opening up shops to sell textures for game making don't know the power of 2 thing. Rolling Eyes

Maybe an entry in the FAQ?

Q: Whya ren't my textures working?
A: POWER OF 2!

Mappy, that avatar is very nice.

Good idea VD - we'll put it in our help file a.s.a.p!

Btw, your avatar is less nice than Mappy's. I don't like people staring at me... Twisted Evil

That might work, but now i just re-opened DeleD Lite and it says

Now what is it!? Confused

btw, in case you haven't realized, i'm new in the 3d modelling department and you'll probably see me on here a lot

And I have no clue why you put rolling eyes after ATI Confused

It says it has something to do with missing material

Might I suggest that a place even better than the help file would be the program itself?

Open texture - get message saying "This texture has a size of XxY, which is not a power of two in size. Re-size ot to X2xY2 for best results."

Because it seems that there's much more problems with ATI cards than with Nvidia's ... but no offense about yours Wink

Welcome on board !

Have you installed the entire package or just the exe? You need the entire package.

Hi Vampire. I first encountered the power of 2 a few weeks ago when exporting graphics into Enliven. Now I see that there are refferences to it here.

Could you explain what the power of 2 is and how do you save a graphic with the power of 2?

Please excuse my ignorance here, but This is new to me.

Kind regards Brian Embarassed

Sorry this is not VD but mappy Wink

Power of 2 textures means that your texture width and height must be 2 numbers at the power of 2 ... ie 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024 ...

To save your texture at the power of 2 you either can crop it or resize it.

VD are you here ? It's up to you Smile

Won't bother with the long 2x speech again, I don't feel like typing it our right now. You always want the dimensions of your textures to be 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048,etc->(keep doubling).

There are a lot of assets out there (like TextureBin) that are free to use, but they are made with raytracing software in mind, and not real time apps. You will have to resize them yourself, or crop them.

Hrm... I made my image 512x512 and it still just freezes my 3d view, all the other windows are just fine, and can work properly, it's only my 3d view that messes up. After I hit ctrl+f3 again, it goes back to normal, but without the skybox... still no luck here...

and the error thing is fixed, i just reinstalled it. (package and executable)
