Hrm... I made my image 512x512 and it still just freezes my 3d view, all the other windows are just fine, and can work properly, it's only my 3d view that messes up. After I hit ctrl+f3 again, it goes back to normal, but without the skybox... still no luck here...
What file format are you using? Could be you are using some funny save options that isn't supported by the loader.

Thanks guys. Thought the power of 2 had to be something like that. Thanks for explanation, I will now keep that in mind when saving textures. Kind regards Brian Laughing

(>;O_>)> Tweaked: Are you on the latest ATI drivers (you'd be amazed how often that solves problems)? If so, could you perhaps send me (paul [at] delgine [dot] com) the skybox images, so I could give it a shot? It's a bit of a longshot, but otherwise I don't have a clue what could be wrong.

A side-note on the whole power-of-2 thing: there isn't really much of a problem working with ordinary textures that are not power-of-2 within DeleD (for the techno-savvy amonst us: because we generate mipmaps anyway). Heck, even one of the textures that is distributed with DeleD is (accidentally btw) non-power-of-2. However, you might run into troubles when:

- exporting to other programs that don't support non-power-of-2 (... that is, a lot of other programs.
- using them for the skybox

So agreed, it is best practice to stick to power-of-2 textures. However, there is a gap between 'best practice' and 'enforcing it through the application'. Not sure wether the latter is the right way to go. I know at least some of you believe it is, so let's definitely continue this discussion some day in a different thread. Smile

On material create:
MsgBox(hMaterialEditor,"WARNING: This textures's dimensions are non power of 2. It will work in Deled, but it may give you problems in other applications.","DeleD",MB_OK):

Like I said, "I know at least some of you believe it is" Smile

Lesson #312 in UI design: don't force-feed your power users pedantic dialog boxes they have to keep clicking away for all eternity. I myself am one of those power users. I do use non-power of 2 textures sometimes. Clicking away dialog boxes makes me severely unhappy.

This discussion is of course extremely off topic in this thread. That's why I suggested having it somewhere else in the first place. Very Happy

(>;O_>)> Tweaked: I just tested the images you send me, and they work perfectly. I have also send you and e-mail to confirm this.

At this point, I am mostly out of ideas on how to solve your problem. Long shots:
- Are you sure you are using the latest version of the graphic drivers?
- Does _any_ other image work for you in the skybox (a random .jpg from the texture folders, for instance)?

That looks great! Very Happy

I still had your e-mail in my 'todo'-inbox, because I wasn't sure whether you meant 'it is working' or 'it is working, but only with this particular skybox'... All in all, good to hear you've got things up and running!
