I have seen on the website that it is possible to import Sketchup files, but is it possible to download the plugin ?

Like the compatibility matrix says: import is possible through .obj and .3ds file format. Both importers are availble at the plugin download page.

Sketchup importers/exporters sounds like an OK plan to me. Somebody got some info we could use to write these plugins?
