:S
What the title means to say is that, if you create a directional light, it will always head towards (0,1,0). Maybe it would be useful, if, when creating a directional light, when you press the left mouse button, you will get the position of the light object. You can drag it around, creating a fictional second point woards which the light will be aligned to. Releasing the button, you have created the light with the rotation. Alas, it only works on for one axis and you will have to adjust the rotation anyway, so maybe this idea is entirely useless _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Yeah, we do need to give it some more thought, but something alongs those lines would certainly come in handy.
Lately I've been thinking about mechanisms for orienting spotlights, myself. A 'focus spotlight on center of selected polygon' would come in most handy. Perhaps the same concept could be applied to a directional light: have directional light shine straight onto selected polygon (i.e. light direction is exact opposite of selected polygon normal). |
