I use a very old editor called qED.
This had the great feature of a "visGroup" type hierarchy.
For instance, one group could be a child of another, so resizing, moving, etc the parent group would also alter all it's children.
This was great when applying textures, etc.
Or when copying and pasting one bit of a level to another.
You could also have "negative" brushes, which act like the subtract feature in DeleD - but these only subtracted from other members of the same group.

Hi cypherzero!
First note: DeleD isnt a world-editor at all. It is a modeler who is also suited for leveldesigning. A child hierarchy will be implemented in version 1.5 afaicr. Well, Jeroen said that.
Second note: Using merge and unmerge is a very nice workaround for that. Merge makes potentially several objects to one, but in the scene-list, you still see multiple objects. Unmerge is like "ungrouping" of all those objects.

Merge seems to create only one object and I can't seem to unmerge.
Group/ungroup works though, but the objects can't be moved individually without ungrouping first. |

Indeed, merge creates one object (hence the name "Merge") and there is no unmerge function. The new grouping functionality (to be implemented after the 1.5 release) will provide for that though.
Grouping assumes you want to perform manipulations on the group, not individual objects. Therefor you need to ungroup the objects if you want to move an individual object. |
