|
|
hi,im using the latest deled update, ive made a couple simple boxes, textured them with a grass texture, then lightmap it (just for testing).
i triangulate it & export to dbo format, but when i load it into dbp,it isnt lightmapped.
anyone know whats going on??
id like to download an earlier version of deled & see if it works.
im also wondering if the makers of dbp have removed the option of lightmapping in dbo format, since they have a new plugin that lightmaps the scene?? |

I don't think an earlier version of DeleD will help. The lightmapper hasn't changed and, after all, all it does is output some bmp files. If you get good results in DeleD, it's either the DBO export plugin or DBP itself that's causing the problem. I heard some rumors about DBO not being backwards compatible anymore?
Maybe II Buzzo can help out here. |

You should ask around on the DBP forums to see if their format has changed. Nothing has changed in DeleD's lightmapper recently so that can't be it.
It's either the DBO format or the DBO plugin, so you could also ask II Buzzo for help. |

Dark Basic's DBO format is quite flacky since they keep changing there code. Even their "preferred" level editor, has problems with it from time to time.
The best way I have discovered getting a level into DBpro is, exporting a .x. It works every time.
I also use Nuclear Glory collision when using Dark Basic for all my collsion too. _________________ "Do or do not. There is no try."

i have no problem loading the textured mesh in,im trying to have it keep the lightmap.tgc might have changed the dbo, since they have there own lightmapping prog now.i might be forced to buy it too. |

Hi Guys,
I'll investigate the problem, sorry to be late in my answer.....
But until version 5.9 lightmap worked well, the only problem could be textures path etc....
Anyway let me know what version of Dark Basic Pro you have and I'll give a look.
Bye |

Hi Guys,
I'm pleased to announce that the trouble is solved, in fact the error was introduced by me in the last version (1.1 I left a | instead of a +, but 1.0 RC5 worked).
Anyway you can download new version 1.1.1 with this error correction from:
http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DBOexporter.zip
Sorry for being late but I'm really concerned with my thesis (microelectronics), so I've not on forums for some days, but in these cases please e-mail me or send a private message and I'll answer.
Bye All |
