When you try to modify a background image, things just sort of go haywire.
First, and this is more of a feature request than a bug, once you try to do anything to the image, you can't undo it. The undo button just doesn't seem to like it for some reason. (It might also be nice to be able to rotate the image or place more than one...)
Second, after you've done this, the only way that you can deselect the image is through 3D mode. That's a little frustrating, but nothing serious. It just takes a minute to figure out.
Third, after you've modified your image and deselected it, all of the buttons and modes on the right (except for scale and rotate) are grayed out. The only way to get them to work again (without creating a new map), is to randomly click and drag on one of the views to make a cube.
Finally, once you're done with this and want to move on, clicking the New button clears everything on the screen, but leaves the background image still sitting there.
None of these are really serious, mind you, but they're a tad frustrating nonetheless. _________________

Yep, i noticed that too, not sure if I mentioned this in the tester forums

You CAN rotate your background image! Simply press the rotate hotkey 'R'. The rotate button is disabled, this might be a bug. Although I have to add that things still don't seem to be right there; you can rotate a background image around all 3 axis and you can see it in the 3D view.

Press 'ESC' to leave the background image modify mode. It's documented nowhere, afaik, Jeroen had to tell me, too

I'm not sure if this is a kind of 'bug', for people might want to use a background image a second time, maybe when they screwed up a model and hit the 'new' key. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Yeah, I figured it might be intentional, but I'd rather mention it than leave it unsaid.
And pressing escape does the trick, eh? I wonder why I never tried that. Thanks. _________________
