What can I say? I'm very, very impressed. Tried several others (3DCanvas, Nendo and others) but none of them have the actual UI ease of use and power that DeleD has.
I'm a complete novice to 3D modelling - just wanting to try for the heck of it (yes, I know my profile gives Occupation: Modelling Engineer but it isn't that kind of modelling ). Even so, after getting used to the interface I seem to be able to do more, faster with this package than any others. It's just a measure of the speed of the interface that I managed to put together two turns of a helix in about 4 mins - a task I tried in other packages without success.
This is after using the package for less than 2 hours...
So many thanks and I'll be buying the full version when I get a spare moment with me & my credit card - and looking forward to contributing models to you...
Chris
PS hope this post in in the right sub group of the forum |

Thanks Dave
Well, I'm working on a boring collection. Street furniture as it is termed. The kind of things normal people dislike . Everything from benches, bollards, belisha beacons, bus shelters, BT cabinets, bins, booths and (I can't make it begin with 'B' I'm afraid), lamp posts.
Here is my first go at it. Needs improvement and expansion (to put it mildly).
regards

Thanks!
I noticed granada being an expert . I'll listen. My next posting - once I have expanded the number of models (and culled a few polygons from some of the models) - will be in a more appropriate sub-section of this forum. Also with more models not beginning with B.
I add new ones after each walk round town, so they are UK & Cambridge centric, but hope to have 20-30 models in the collection before long. Currently I'm on a bollard & bin fetish (anyone who's been to Cambridge will understand - the council seems to love dozens of different types).
I'll be adding some Spanish ones later this year - though I don't know what the residents of Castellon will make of me taking photos of their street furniture .
Anyway, I don't see any point in keeping the .dmf files private so I hope to let the wider community have them if they are good enough.
regards
