Hello recently found you program, been trying a few things and i think there is a bug in the extrude faces control (but it could be me Smile )
When i select extrude by region it extrudes faces the same as when not selected ,not as i expected.
What i was trying was to make a tower with a larger turret at top ,so i selected a ring of faces and extruded by region , they all extruded seperatley not joined as i expected.Exactly the same as without it selected.

Hi there fik, and welcome! Smile

Extrude By Region works with adjacent polygons sharing the same normal (as in, they all point in the same direction). You can test this by creating a cube, triangulate its top polygon so it consists out of 2 triangles and Extrude By Region those 2 polygons. If you slightly move the edge that is shared by those two polygons and then use Extrude By Region, you will see the individual polygons are extruded in different directions (much like a normal extrude would do).

However, do you think this is not the way it is supposed to work? Another way could be to extrude by region while keeping the faces connected (but no inner polygons) even if they face in different directions. I believe that has been pointed out before, but I can't remember for sure right now. Anyway, if you think that's the way it should work, please do tell! Maybe we can make an exta option with the Extrude command so both ways are possible. Smile

Thanks for reply i now see difference in two (region does not extrude joining face when they are palner). It would be nice if you could have option to keep faces connected if they were not planer, i think would be very useful and more intuitive.

Yes, I think that would be better as well.

I have just improved the Extrude By Region command so it behaves exactly like described here. Smile Available in the next release.
