I made a basic house in Deled which makes the torque exporter hang when cutting convex brushes. If I turn off the cutting option and export the model into Torque, the roof is fine, the doorway shows up as a solid cube, the doorframe and walls (inside and out) do not show up at all.

The process I used was

1) Turned on "keep operator" in the CSG options

2) Created a cube for half the roof. Selected vertices and shifted one side to create a parallelogram (two 45 degree edges to match other half roof and make lower edge parallel to walls).

3) Copied that half, mirrored and put together to form an A shape roof.

4) Created a cube for the main house outer walls and placed it so that the upper poly was just above the apex of the roof

5) Subtracted first one side of the roof and then the other from the house cube - resulting in a cubic bottom with gables.

6) Went to vertex mode and deleted the two left-over triangular shapes from above the roof.

7) Used the "hollow" function to create the interior of the house (complete with vaulted ceiling)

Cool Created a cube for the doorframe and subtracted that from the main house.

9) Created a cube the size of the doorway and subtracted that from the doorframe cube, then deleted the operator.

10) Set textures, rotated, scaled, etc.

N.B. To avoid the system.bmp hassle, I selected a jpg texture before creating anything.

Any ideas as to why the exporter and torque don't like my architectural masterpiece? Crying or Very sad

P.S. I did no merging of shapes or surfaces - just left polys as they developed.

Ok, your problem is carving out the interior of the house.
The exporter, in it's present form, doesn't like that.
What you will need to do, is to make the walls and floor out of boxes like you did for the roof. You can cut out the doorway tho. That works.
Here's a sneek peek at a castle I'm making in deled and exporting to torque
There are doorways and windows carved out of boxes everywhere.
Just make your house out of whole boxes, cut your door and windows, and it will work fine. Smile

Rhodan: Thanks for providing the model! Expect a detailed answer (and hopefully a fix for the exporter) once I have examined it...
