DeleD 1.53 Released!
Added functionality
- Customizable layout: dock function windows like Create/Edit, Scene Inspector, Object Inspector and Material Picker on both the left and right side of the screen, as well as docking the Material Picker on the bottom of the screen.
- Lightmapper Normal Smoothing (by means of the Normal Auto Smooth Crease Angle setting) is re-activated.
- Options window can now be properly closed using the ESC button.
- PolyLines can be triangulated or convexionated (breaking up in convex pieces) at creation now. Convexionating polygons may not provide an optimal set of convex polygons in all cases but usually results in fewer polygons when compared to triangulating the original polygon.
- An Optimize command has been made available. The optimizer merges polygons, removed redundant vertices and convexionates concave polygons.
The picture shows two cubes with a sphere subtracted from them using the CSG subtract command. The object on the left has 225 polygons, 528 edges and 305 vertices. The object on the right, after being optimized, has 149 polygons, 284 edges and 137 vertices. Optionally, CSG commands can automatically invoke the Optimizer on the CSG results, as has been done in this example.
Changed functionality
- A very much improved Help file.
- Improved Polygon Merge routine.
- Hotkey for options window has changed to ALT-O.
- Pressing Space (which invokes the Clone command) now shows a warning message if no selection had been made yet.
- Activating the Popup menu on any of the views no longer requires a "really quick" mouse click.
Fixed issues
- Editing edges of light objects isn't possible anymore.
- Orientation of the axis indicator in Top Views is now correct.
- Scale Objects by Percentages using the input boxes works correctly now.
- Performing multiple vertex bevel actions in 3D views is possible now.
- In some cases, the build-in .X exporter didn't write the correct material ID's to the file. This has been corrected. The .X importer plugin also checks for this error now. |

If the help file is improved, than everyone should be downloading the setup.exe instead of just the .exe _________________

This is great, CSG Is flawless, the new customizable UI is handy, and the new slow mouse click for popup menu is great, I always had trouble with that.. |
