Okay some one explain this to me in terms can understand.
Start off with the basic
1. Why does the subtraction and other tools in Delgine cause werid effects in Torgue? Example create a building and use the subtraction in making the walls, then load in Torque and looks like someone scambled the walls.
2. Also see the union cause the same effect.
Dont get me wrong , looks awesome , looks like a nuclear war took place on the building. Trust me this will be use in making the some my areas.
2. What tools can I use n making buildings and what tricks are there so dont have make 50 mil cubes in layers to form a building?
Since still new too 3d world here , used to getting my pencel and drawing what want.
Any hints , tricks in making objects in this program be most helpful...
One is the weld and connection not understanding how to use this tools.
Really want to use this software , dont want to use Hammer , due not see in writing from Valve true premission. Can use 3dstudio but time to sit here learn that program is not on the list. Like this software and power it contains inside it.
Know building is not a simple task and lots of speed bumps in the road , but gather all the information and become good with Delgine sooner give back to the community.
Well that all now from the madcowthomas peanut gallery....thanks everyone for putting up with me! _________________

Madcow,
Most of what you've mentioned are known bugs in the exporter. They are being worked on. The torque exporter is quite young, so please be patient. It's getting better every day. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Trucker
Thanks for getting back me on that subject.
Starting to find ways around the small issues and design all my objects in layers. Seems to help when creating a building to make the walls in layers working your way up.
But anything works when there is lack of sleep involed! _________________

Weld is anther word for Merge, but Weld is used for vertices only. Weld will merge selected vertices that are within a certain distance of eachother. You can set the distance in the Command Property window. Weld is particularly useful when using CSG. Because CSG routines are dividing your objects into more vertices and polygons, it sometimes can be handy to weld some of the vertices when you're done with CSG. Welding will give you a cleaner object, so to speak.
Connect can be used to connect vertices and edges. Simply select a number of vertices and hit the C button. They will be connected by new edges, forming new polygons along the way. The same applies to edges. |

Lol, I was just about to ask how to create polys using existing vertices! Thanks for answering my question before I asked |
