|
|
A new version of our Cartography Shop importer just got released. Changes (copy-paste from history.txt):
Quote: |
- Texture loading is now more tolerant to texture location. It will look both in the provided path (or in the folder containing the .CSM if no path is provided), AND in the relative subfolder as part of the texture specification inside the .CSM file.
- The orientation of imported textures was not quite right, this is now fixed (thanks, Brad!).

Get it from our Importer Plugin section. |

great news PJ! thankls for the update!
Any chances of a 3d world studio importer? I suppose the file format must be similar. |

That's an interesting remark, as I am in the middle of doing a little preliminary research on that file format. Perhaps you can answer some of my questions:
1. We are talking about the ".3dw" file format, right? From the documentation provided with the 3DWS user guide, the file format is looks kinda different from .CSM, but supporting it should be entirely feasible.
2. What would be the main goal supporting it? Doesn't 3DWS support exporting to various other file formats out of the box?
3. Is there a place where I can download some (or even better: a lot of) example files to take a look at? Are there reference views available, besides 3DWS itself?
4. Is it important that DeleD imports not only meshes, but brushes and terrain as well? (I am guessing the answer to that is a definite "yes" ) |
