I do in DeleD objects for Torque Game Engine and beside I constantly appear one and the same problem - in an effort change default texture c system.bmp on system.png in file default.dml beside me when start surfaced the report on that that file system.bmp not found create dummy texture.
later , by experiment me to manage all ( itself do not know as =) lol )
all change him(it) on necessary me . and deled even works and exports =). BUT: now I can not create second texture layer - pop-up here is such message -
my problem is concluded in that that if use system.bmp - that I sometimes forget and not change;replace;substitute her(it) under test export on any other texture and export with .bmp teksturoy. but TGE does not work with file .BMP . so happens to all do once again.
I want to ask that possible to do to use in editor that formats textures which I need ( PNG and DDS ) there where me this necessary.
in an effort change in file of the desksides type file are manually got in general interesting belongings - for instance I have already changed in him system.png on system.bmp but herewith DeleD balk does not see that in desksides already recorded other format of the file and gives here is such error:
herewith even though in list of no no textures - he ignores this default.dmf and in material list displays that set of the textures which was before change default.dmf
added: that no other files to desksides I did not create since this uselessly - if I save new file with another name - he his(its) does not see and loads once again default.dmf =( |

So what you are saying is that changing the system texture in default.dmf doesn't work correctly? We'll see if we can fix that, thanks for reporting it. The system texture is pretty special, but changing it in the default.dmf should work.
Restricting the available file formats within DeleD sounds like one step too far (it's basically not DeleD's responsibility that some file format (Torque) does not support certain texture formats), but perhaps:
1) We could add a simple option to select all faces with the selected material (so you can replace any system texture you might have forgotten at one go)
2) Perhaps the Torque exporter could be made a little bit smarter and not just 'stop working' when it encounters a .bmp . It could replace the .bmp with a different file format. However, whatever solution we choose, you would still have to replace the material of the faces you forgot at some point in time, so I think (1) would still be a good thing to have.
Oh, and before I forget, what's going on with the 'invalid file format' (marked 2) .bmp in the screenshot you posted? Is that some .bmp format unsupported by DeleD? |
