Btw: I've also open-sourced it. You can get the source at code.google.com.
Perhaps the best part of that is that there's a nice separation between "interfacing to DeleD" and "exporting X file," so you can use the DeleD scene interface for other plug-ins. Last I checked, it was significantly faster than the other such frameworks I could find ;-) |

I'm more than willing to give it a try myself, although I don't actually use .x files for anything and I'm really limited in my time these days (I'm sure you people noticed I haven't been around much lately... which I'm hoping will change soon). Hopefully I'll be able to give the exporter a quick testrun sometime this week! A few words in advance: thanks for updating that plugin - I think that rocks! |

I'll try it right now. Doing a hugemongous project in DirectX, so I need it anyway.
However, the new version of DeleD unfortunately seems to be more crash-happy than 1.44, so I've been using 1.44 more often. |

It doesn't seem to let me export at all. OK button is disabled with seemingly any combination of settings. Also, the file path length is capped which is quite annoying. |

Dr Zoop:
Try browsing to a file using the dialog button. If that doesn't un-dim the OK button, try editing the file name in the text field, and let me know how it goes.
I'll make a note of looking into this. |

Same here. OK button stays disabled. Tried an existing file and editing the file name in the text file but didn't work out.
Also, your installer seems to want to connect to the internet (your site). I disallowed that using my firewall and the installer hung up on me. |

Yes, the installer will download the VS 2005 runtime package if you don't have it already on your machine. The magic of MS "web setup" installers. |

I had VS2005 installed already. Are you sure that's what's going on? It tried to go to your website right at the end of installation. When I disallowed that, the installer hung up on me and I had to use the Task Manager to shut it down. After that, it turned out that the plugin dll's had been installed correctly. I can run the plugin just fine. Now all I need is an enabled OK button. |

Actually, it'll also pull up the "about" HTML page after installation, by running an install action. I suppose that could have been it.
I should just always enable that OK button... |

OK, I fixed the OK button. It's now always enabled, and the exporter will kvetch if you haven't selected correct options. Should be more sane that way.
Get it while it's hot! |

Ok, I'll give it another try a.s.a.p (which should be somewhere this week due to timing issues... )
I sure hope more people are going to give this exporter a try! |

I decided to give this a try.
It only exports From .x to .x??
I tried to export a dxs but it didn't recognise the forumat.
Edit to add:
I went back and exported an X file that i had exported before. (it worked)
Here is the entire X file outputted by nuXporter:
Code: |
xof 0302txt 0032
Header {
1;
0;
1;
}

I think something is missing.
What I did:
Exported castleSeige from deled (prior version) to .x
In the browse to filename, I browsed and clicked on CastleSeige.x
In the textre path, I browsed to deledPros own texture folder.
Clicked ok. The exporter closed without a single thing happening. No errors, no export to directory, nothing. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
