Select a bunch of polygons, perhaps have options for amplitude and axis restrictions, then click a button and have your vertices/objects/faces/edges moved randomly around.
It could be very useful for modeling terrain or other variable surfaces, for example. _________________

Hmmm, interesting. I never seem to be using pure random data in practice, but if we extend it to a bit broader set of functions (trig/smoothing/arbitrary eval/ect...) like seen in most terrain generators, I can definitely see the use.... although it could mess up the geometry terribly when used without taking proper care to restrict the amplitude . |

Like the Noise modifier in Max. It's useful sometimes when creating rocks or gnarled tree trunks.
Of course, if the plug-in API could give you the sub-object (vertex) selection set, then this could be a plug-in, not a DeleD command. I'm just sayin'. :-) |
