Hi all,

It is very convenient to apply texture to objects in DeleD.
eg. select an object and double-click a material.

I try to draw an object made of a cube and a sphere in Wings3D and export as .3ds file. When I import this model, the model is very small. Thus, I scale it and try to double-click a material to apply texture to it....
However, I could not see the texture, just plain color was applied to the model. What should I do so that there is no need to use uv editor?

Thanks in advance.

'Plain color' gets applied to the model when the object has no UV coords, and therfor, the entire object has the coords (0,0), so all the model is covered by the top left pixel of the texture.

go to face mode, select all your faces, and click GEN UV.

Should I do this in Wings3D or DeleD?

Thanks in advance

You should do that in DeleD. The Gen. UV command is listed with the Lowpolygon Commands and becomes activated in Face mode. Smile

If you have textured your objet and imported this in deled you lose texture but de texture material exist.

You can go to material editor, select the material and apply too your texture.

If you make this you dont loose uv mapping of the other software
