Wow, this is... Did you do this entirely with DeleD? Specifically the texturing, I mean. Could you upload a screenshot of the UV Editor?

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Yeah, I am amazed you did this in DeleD. I mean... I believe this can be done in DeleD 1.7 because that version will have subdivision but you did this without subdivision. Amazing stuff! Very Happy

Can we use these screens for our gallery?

here they are:

here is how i do it:

first restrict to Y,
then scale your model so you will have almost a flat plane like this:

now select all the faces and do box mapping in the uv editor,
now you will get a nice uv map of the bottem and top of your model.
then scale your model back to the original form.
now you can do the same but then restrict to X and select only the poly's you want for your side.
then scale move and rotate some texture's and voila Wink

That's a terrific way to achieve UV mapping fast! Very Happy Hey, perhaps you can put this info into a nice little DeleD tutorial?? That would be awesome!

Other UV editors usually do this for you with their own flattening command, so you don't have to play with your mesh like that!

That's a most excellent example of using the available tools to their max! Daaark is right, the UV editor should have some extra features to make this kind of mapping more convenient (and it will), but I love how you worked within the limits of the toolset and used it to your advantage. Very inspiring!
