|
|
First off let me say that DeleD is awesome . Very easy to use and gets the job done great. Depending on how much mapping I'm gonna have to do myself depends on if I buy PRO or not. I'm more on the programming side of things .
I've been searching around for this answer but I haven't found it yet, so sorry if this has been asked or been brought up before.
The Material Editor will show all of my JPG's and Bitmap's, but not my PNG's or TGA's. Is this because I am using LITE or am I missing something? I know the PNG's and TGA's are correctly made.
Thanks in advance.

PNG and TGA are pro only. _________________

Thanks for the response.
Does DeleD support any other file formats that use transparency that can be used in LITE? |

Thanks again for the response.
I don't see any other transparency-based formats listed so I'm going to assume transperency textures is PRO only.
Thanks again . |

Yes, you are right. Due to the file format restrictions, usage of transparent textures is PRO only.
You can use transparent color layers, and you can even do a neat little multilayer trick to make any texture transparent (single transparency value for all of the texture):
1) Fill the first layer with your texture and set blend mode to alphablend
2) Set the second layer to 'color' type, and set the color to bright white, alpha < 255 to make it transparent, and set the blend mode to modulate.
Ok, so this is not really practical, and it will probably fail to work when we rewrite the material system (couple of versions away), but I figured it would still be fun to know... |

Thanks for the response. This would work in some cases but what I needed to do was import some transparency-based graphics into DeleD.
Thanks for the confirmation though. |

Alright, im getting more and more impressed by DeleD by the hour. I didn't catch the DDS format support, that's great =D
Now all DeleD needs is a way to export multiverse collision volumes directly, and you folks will be the envy of the MV community as a static model and interior editor. |
