Is the new Ogre exporter exporting Ogre 1.4 files ?
Blink 3D has just begun including a mesh upgrader and optimiser,
I'm wondering if the upgrade step is something I should be doing
with files generated with the current Deled exporter ?

cheers

Well it's been a couple of months, so I thought I'd see if there was a
possible answer to this - I appreciate that it's a drag being asked to
keep up with other peoples software when there's possibly no appreciable
financial benefit .. and it's hardly the sort of thing you're (Paul Jan)
likely to be desperate to get into when you get home of an evening ..
but I was just wondering ?

cheers

Louis! I seem to have completely missed this question back in May, I'm terrible sorry.

The new exporter is still exporting the old 1.30 format, but we can certainly fix that. I will contact you through PM to discuss details.

Nah, just wanted to have a little chat with Louis (an old-time community member) to say hi and discuss some Blink3D stuff, nothing for the public forums. As far as the exporter goes, it wil be updated to 1.4 ... but I already said that. Very Happy

I don't think it was - however - if you're using Blink or just plain Ogre,
or some other shade of it, then there are tools for upgrading and
optimising meshes post export.

Paul Jans exporter still works perfectly - then (in Blink) you just upgrade
the meshes using the Tools->Mesh Upgrader + Tools->Mesh Optimiser.
From www.Ogre you can get the command line versions of these two
tools (drag and drop functionality).

Cheers,
louis.

As far as I'm aware, you can still load the 1.3 style files just fine (in Ogre, Multiverse and Blink) without pulling them through the command line tool, right? This is why I didn't prioritize this, because there really isn't a need to upgrade to the newer file format as long as the old one works fine.

If I'm wrong, please correct me, and I'll boost priority.
