Hello..

I'm working on learning Deleg3D and am trying to figure out how to activate a "snap to grid" mode where as I'm scaling or moving or creating an object I'm being snapped to the grid, or to some other unit setting, so I can remain more precise while working...

I see the two options in the top menu, but they don't seem to have any effect.. at least not for what I'm trying to do... So is there any way to have a grid-snap active while creating or working with geometry in D3D? If there is, it's completely eluding me.

Thanks!
Mike

Okay.. I think I've figured out how the gridsnap works in D3D... it doesn't actually snap you while moving an object, but "snaps" you into place after you've released the mouse button.. Not what I was expecting.. but it'll work Smile

Thanks Smile

it's even better - it seems you can switch the grid resolution while dragging.

I used it to start with a 256 grid (key '6') and while dragging switched to 64 (key '4').Come to think of it I don't know if it works the other way round.

Yep, it works the other way around too, dirkk. Smile

mtvogel, it might be fun to check out the Object Inspector (found in the View menu or by rightclicking 2D views). You can set more snapping variables there (the Snap method to be precise). Smile

that's the fun part with DeleD. I work an hour or two per day with it and I discover most of the things I missed before, because I didn't know they were there.

Jereon, that's the reason why I didn't give any hints to 'tweaks' yet - I'd rather see what is there first and ask later.
