|
|
Hi,
I'm trying to remove the deled.exe from \program files\DeleD LITE to put the updated .exe in its place but it won't let me.
I'm the admistrator of the machine so I'm a bit confused! I tried to take ownership of the file on the command line but this also told me I didn't have the right privileges.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
LW. |

Sorry, I didn't realise I needed to specifically run the command prompt as admin (as I'm logged in as an admin already) for takeown to work. Feel free to delete this post.
Cheers,

Why do you have to do any of that? Just type in your admin passowrd to replace the .exe, or give yourself ownership of the DeleD folder with the GUI. _________________

We are talking about Vista here, right? I am still getting used to the "run as administrator" approach myself. |

I have an admin account for that, but I run under a normal (limited) user all the time. If I need to delete the .exe or move anything into the folder, I just have to type my admin account password into a box that pops up. That's the nice thing about UAC.
You can even right click on the deled folder, and give your account persmission to do anything in the folder. It's easy and takes 2 seconds. _________________
