|
|
A member of this forum, espritcool, has made a forum dedicated to DeleD for french speaking users. It is available here:
http://www.bibliotheque-des-esprits.com/Forum_programmation/index.php?c=5
Thanks to espritcool for this very nice initiative!
Note: as we (the DeleD developers) do not understand french, please report any DeleD problem/bug at the original Delgine forums right here. |

Is there any chance that someone could make a similar forum but in Spanish? Even if i do know english (and it's not my original language), it would be nice to see one around
See you...
[EDIT]: don't like this idea any more. I feel capable of dealing with English without big problems

So, even though my knowledge of the french language is rather limited, I don't find that this forum is dedicated to DeleD anymore.

Setting up a spanish language (or any language for that matter) is a trivial task. The problem is having people who understand the language moderating.
espiritcools forum looks to be an "all around programming" forum now. There is no mention of Deled anymore. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Yes. If a user doesn't feel capable enough to create a thread in english, he can still post in his native language and see if there's someone who can help him. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Yeah, I mean anyway there're people who understand French, German, Spanish, etc, etc. Therefore, I will start telling my friends the meaning of each topic, and they could post, and someone who understands Spanish (Tincho, Fangelico, Afecelis, other ones that I don't know that they understand Spanish, or even me myself), and they could find the ansewer to what they want to know, although this could be easier if the option to change languages was enabled to change, i mean, the topics could be in Inglish, but the user could post in their original languaje (of course, this could make the forum a little bit, deorganizated ) _________________

The forum software won't translate the posts, even if the language settings were enabled, the posts would still be in english.
The way it is now works. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

No, yeah I know that, but what I meant to say is that even if we could change the language, the people could post in their normal language, of course, the the moderators or any other person who speeks in the language of the post (and here would come the hard work for them ) would translate it to Inglish, we've already done it .What I mean with changing the language to the forum is , as an i.e :
3D modelling = Modelado 3D (in Spanish)...That's what I meant with the change of language, only that, changing the names to the appropiate language for the user, but, only in the main topics (DeleD 3D editor, News/Announcements, etc) not to all the topics that would be a dead people job
Do you get my point? _________________

And this is the easiest language to learn IMO.
To be honest, I don't understand why some french people don't speak/write correctly in english, as in college we usually learn 2 languages, and many many people choose english for the first one (as I've done myself). But college is far far away from me, so maybe I'm missing something _________________ OL. |

Why not just make a program like google did to translate into the other languages? I mean they could talk in their language (lets say english) then have the program translate it into spanish and vis-vers? |

Because this technology does not work at all. Especially if you have text translated several times, it will screw up the content so that nobody will be able to understand it.
If other users want to have a try on that if they don't understand english well enough, they still can use bablefish or whatever site is used right now.
Also,

Uhm, this would take a team of two people about 50 years? Google didn't create its translation feature in an instant either and those guys are very fast at creating software. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

mappy > yes... frenchies should learn english. But as a french, i think that french should learn french first.
With cellphones and text messages, "ppl r talkin LIk dat. 2 lazy 2 write full messages" (with more spelling mistakes. Lots of). And because they are too lazy to learn how to speak correctly their native language, they are even too lazy to learn a new one.
that's all about lazyness. And that's truly sad.
But some are "smart" enough to see how important it is to speak correctly their native language, and to learn new ones. (yes, that's kind of an elitist point of view, but you should see french boards, and messages... that's a real problem).
(BTW, even if i'm french, i've never been there) |

True, but I think google lets you do this for free? So really dont have to make it, just ask for it.
True, that if you do it over and over on it it will mess up, but if you keep the org. copy and only translate that copy into the new lang. then it wont as bad. Like
(english.html)->(spanish.html)
