The maze world game is 5 levels of mazes. Each one is increasingly harder to work thru. Levels 1-3 are finished, and level 4 is giving me a headache. Litterally. (that's 1/4 of level 4 shown) How you guys can do this for a living is beyond me. Well, anyway, I have all the programming done, and 3 levels already finished. Just thought I'd give you all a little preview.
This is the main menu:
Nevermind the orc. He's not in there anymore.
Once this game is finished, I'll be releasing it for free to anyone who likes working their way thru mazes.
To give you an idea how easy level 1 is, my 7 year old grandson navagated it in 5 minutes. He hasn't made it thru level 3 yet.
Tis just another non violent game to play. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Yes. R2 will be in the game. Just in what capacity, I don't know yet. I have level 4 almost halfway thru now. I still need to find appropriate in game music from my library, and mabe some other sound effects, but that, and the end level are all that's left. (aside from finishing the 2 mazes.)
Edit to add:
Level 4 done.
STATISTICS
- Total brushes: 989
+ structural: 989
+ detail: 0
+ portal: 0
- Number of zones: 1
- Number of surfaces: 7691
Took the exporter 15 minutes to export. I'm hoping level 5 maze doesn't crash it.
This one took me all of today. I expect level 5 to take at least 2-3 days to complete.

I use the torque game engine. It uses openGl, but has a wrapper for directX if people decide they want to play in that mode. It's actually benificial to play in openGl tho. (better performance)
I have 1 thing left to do, then it's off to cleaning up the code, beta test on my sons computer, then out the door. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Ok, with 1 bug left, (that I know of) I'm going to release the beta version.
All 5 levels are complete. (with the ecception of adding a few extra goodies to level 5)
There is a bug in the lighting that causes the game to double it's brightness at times. Aside from that, (and having to replace a couple of sound files) this game should be complete and playable.
It's single player and windows only at this time. I do have future plans for a mac version. (just have to fix the mac) and possibly a multiplayer version.
Mazes, R2D2, Sign, and other goodie at the end made right here in Deled.
Press your esc key to exit the game.
Press tab to switch from first person to third person (not advised) view.
If you finish a level, it doesn't save it, so just click on the next level to play it.
My almost 8 year old grandson made it thru levels 1 and 2 in less than 5 minutes. He hasn't played the rest yet.
The pics are Here
Have fun and let me know what you think.
umm, almost forgot..... Get the game from the downloads section here No regiestration necessary. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

it's fun, but...
1. you should work on the performance.
2.at the bekinning of a maze, you can walk back and go around the maze. _________________ ♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠ |

I've played levels 1 trhu 3 very easily, stopped at level 4.
The level 2 launch the player outside the maze, so if you want to cheat, it's easy
Can't you "pack" your game so that nobody is able to save all your textures/models ... ? Maybe you just don't care ? _________________ OL. |

Yes, I can. I just haven't done it yet.

Yes, umm.... I forgot to fix that one.
Level 3 was easy? hmm...gonna have to fix that.
Level's 4 and 5 are going to be grueling. I haven't made it thru them all the way yet.
Thanks for the feedback. It really helps. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

I got lost in level 4
It keeps running more slowly the higher I get, don't know if it's the game or my laptop though. Also, I get some graphic bugs here and there! _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

I think the performance issues and the other anomolies are due to the same problem. On my computer, the performance is fine. On my sons computer, (same as mine eccept 512mb of ram) it's a tad laggy. I may have to cut down on the size of the forest to fix this. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Im on my laptop at the moment - I had no performance issues nor any noticeable graphical bugs. On level 2, I went into the forest without any noticeable performance hit...
Ironically, my laptop has the bane of all gamer's gfx card - intel mobile |

Bugs squashed.
Thankyou all for testing this game. I've fixed a bunch of little bugs and overlooks. The only bug left is the lighting bug which I cannot fix. (hopefully, that will be fixed at a later date)
For now tho, Version 1 has been released. Free. Enjoy. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
