I am looking for a 2d program that can:

make normal texture's become transparant with different opacity's

you can set the layer like the old pacman, that when you go with your mouse at the right side out of the paper that it appears at the left side at the same hight (this way i can draw seamless texture's)

If anyone knows if this is possible in Painter X?

if not what other software?

Paint Shop Pro 7. It's an auto-generated mask, there are several options, and a toggle to invert the output too.

I'm trying Paint.Net to see if it works, but I got hijacked by an auto-update.

I couldn't find any mask options in paint.net. If you want to send me the window, I can send back a masked copy. Your 500$ paint program should be able to do this. Laughing

Look for the MASKING features.

An alpha channel is something saved out to a file, not something you work with in a paint program. You usually have to export your mask to the alpha channel.

lol, i found a way with paint.net, if you go to the layer properties you see the opacity, than you can just set how much opacity you want and save it as an .png or a .tga Embarassed stupid me Razz

but know i need an answer to this question:

i am looking for a program where you can set the image like the old pacman, that when you go with your mouse at the right side out of the paper that it appears at the left side at the same hight, and when you go out of the paper at the top the brush appears at the bottem? (this way i can draw seamless texture's)

Texturemaker does that (and by default should I say).

HTH.

You can do this with any program by offsetting the image so the edges meet in the middle. Then you paint the edges in a '+' mode. Where '+' is all the edges meeting at the center.

When you are done, just move the image back to how you need it. This can be done manually, or sometimes automatically.
