|
|
The end of the year is approaching fast, and we haven't had a decent compo for ages (as some loyal forum members have pointed out). So here it is, with only two weeks to go before christmas: DLXC 2007. Like the name suggests, it's just a little compo (and kinda short too), with little prizes... but a LOT of merriness to go around! Christmas was never about money anyway, right?
Prizes:- A copy of DeleD PRO, which you can either keep to yourself, hand to a friend or, to honour the Christmas Spirit, donate to any LITE user on the forums you think deserves it. Don't you feel just like Santa now?
- A nice little set of SciFi textures the Delgine Team still had in stock
- Eternal Fame, as you'll get your name posted in the official DeleD Hall of Fame. Which doesn't exist yet, but will after the compo ends!
- Last, but perhaps not least: $60 dollars in cash (paid through PayPal) to ease the burden of Christmas Shopping.
Rules: - Theme is Christmas Indoors. With the cold and frightning weather outside, we want to see fireplaces, warm stockings, hot chocolate, piles of presents... anything you can think of!
- Post a screenshot of your scene in this thread. Feel free to pimp it up with other tools, but the scene will be judged on it's own merits.
- When you are done, send a .zip file containing the DXS and textures to x m a s @ delgine.com (remove spaces).
- Deadline is Christmas Day (December 25). If you spend Christmas with your family (like you should), make sure to post it earlier.
- Everyone can discuss the entries in this very thread on the forum.
- Winners will be handpicked by the Delgine Team (taking the posted opinions into account).
- We (that is, Delgine) can use submitted pictures for the DeleD gallery and other promotional purposes.
FAQ
Q. Do I need to send the lightmaps as well?
A. No, feel free to strip them off (edit -> remove lightmaps).
Q. My e-mail is too large and is bounced. What do I do now?
A. Upload it to a some online file storage (like RapidShare and e-mail us the link.

Good luck there . I'm on vacations right now until December 31th and I can't download DeleD (because of this old-messy PC; I can luckily use Internet ) Guess I'll save some money next year for PRO...
[EDIT]: oh ... and this will be the hottest Xmas I've ever had... (45ยบ C yesterday ) Just add this because I can't think of anything warm (as you said - hot chocolate, fireplaces, emm , etc.)

Cool! I'm an addict for these kind of things. If I'm not busy I might try my hand at an entry.
Good luck everyone! Happy holidays! |

I didn't say anything, but I've been working on this since you posted this thread.
objects = 157
lights = 2
polygons = 39634
edges = 77713
vertices = 38384
All made, lightmapped, and rendered in Deled.
It's missing something tho. Can't figure out what. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

I haven't optimised it, or removed polys you don't see.
The floor is 1 big box with a tiled texture on it. (and another box for the carpet) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Thanks, but I'd bet you can do much better than I can. I'm not an artist.
I changed the floor and optimised this house using the optimise button.
New stats:
objects = 158
lights = 2
polygons = 39644
edges = 77712
vertices = 38370
Numbers went up??
I'm finished. If I attempt to do any more, I'll just mess it up.
Edit, santutatu, you added an image. Looking good. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
