there's something i didn't understand thoug....we need to create a base (in this case a rectangle) to meassure the properties of the future cylinder....then...mark the way with the polyline...that's correct? Confused

Sorry about this Jeroen, but I am going to need a small amount of extra time - I think it has a small bug still when closing the extrusion path Sad

I should be able to give you the new version today or tomorrow...

cheers,
Paul.

Hi santutatu,
You take a base object, like the rectangle in this example, which will be used as the shape of the "pipe" that will be created following the path of the other object that is selected.

cheers,
Paul

thanks...i think i get it now...if i would like to use a cylinder rather than a rectangle (to make a cylindric shape)...it would do a cylinder shape intead of a cube shape (like the one of the pics)....this is going to be great! Very Happy

HI Dave,
Life has been keeping me quite busy lately...sorry about not being able to post the plugin when I had hoped.

I should be able to upload a basic version that people can play with in the next couple of days. It may still have a bug when using closed primitives like elipse and setting the extrusion path to closed, but it will still be useful besides that.

cheers,
Paul

Hi guys, I have uploaded the plugin at (http://fpc4gp2x.eonclash.com/downloads/ExtrudeAlongPath.zip) so people can try it out if they want before it is uploaded to the delgine site.

If you select exactly 2 primitives (profile, then path) in the editor it will allow that profile to be extruded along that path.

But if more or less than 2 primitives are selected then another dialog box with more options will be shown. This allows circle or rectangle profiles, and circle (or arc), rectangle, or straight line paths. This other dialog saves the options in an .ini file so it remembers between runs.

Enjoy, and any comments welcome Smile

cheers,
Paul

Sorry, but I had to update the plugin I uploaded as I had a normal bug that didn't show when I had double-sided enabled with the new extra options I had added...

it is now updated Smile

cheers,
Paul
