There is another X exporter -->Here<--
That may help you. I don't think there is a 3ds exporter. Just an importer. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Download Wings3D, export your scene as .obj, import it to Wings, export it as .3ds.

i´m using the 3d gamestudio engine, i need the file in the .mdl format, the mesh its no problem, the problem is the textur, every when i load the file in the other 3d editor from the engine comes only the mesh, not the texturs.
i must only the model export in deled is that correct or have i a step forgot? _________________ best regards

Your engine is probably looking for the models textures in the same folder as the model. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

When i export the model from deled, he move automatic the texturs in the folder who i export the model.
when i import the model in the other 3d program comes a window, he question me who are the texture file and i must every klick the texturfile. But not correct, here a screen:

oh man i hate this problem

damit man mich richtig versteht ^^
_________________ best regards

Here are some pointers:
1. In the third post from the top, Trucker2000 pointed out another .X exporter by JWatte. It exports slightly different .X files than our own, so you really ought to try that. Perhaps 3DGS is picky.
2. Try to go the route Mr. Fletcher/Starnick suggest: if you export to obj -> wings, then export to .3ds from wings, do things work properly?
3. Are you sure your textures are in a file format that is supported by the engine? (i.e. some engines do not support .BMP).
4. Can we reproduce this? What editor are you using exactly, MED (note: I know next to nothing about GameStudio)? Will the free version do? |

Lol. awe, don't feel stupid. We all make that mistake from time to time when working with new software. I'm glad you got it figured out and working. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
