i would like to have that deled can browse through maps in maps,
like i have a texturemap or prefab map name furniture
and in that map i have different maps like: living room, bedroom, kitchen etc.
and then that deled also sees those, that way all the textures (I now have 5 GB textures in the deled map) get much better organised.
you would need to make another browser for the material editor though, but the prefab browser can stay the same to work ok. |

Errr... I think you mean folders, right? (for those who are non-Dutch, the Dutch word map means folder). If you really do need some sort of nested maps, please try to explain it again because I'm too thick to follow.
If you are indeed requesting subfolder support in the texture browser, you are definitely not alone, people have asked about that before. The reason the texture browser works the way it works is because Trees Are Evil (GUI-wise, humans suck at using trees), but indeed, if you have many many textures, Trees Might Be Evil But Work A Whole Lot Better Than The Current Solution. So this is something we already have plans for, but your request is most welcome, priority has just been upped. |

I would love a subfolder/tree GUI. What we have right now makes me cringe at times because if I have a folder closer to the end of the alphabet, I have to scroll every single time I go into the material browser. I generally just end up throwing new textures into one of Dave's folders since its near the beginning
This is from modcenter, but could be from anything...but I personally like to see something like this on one of the sides and being able to collapse/expand subfolders, and so on. Maybe even have the option to create new directories and organize your textures while you're in the material browser! |

Ah, nice suggestion, a fully functional explorer (but slightly restricted in where you are allowed to browse) integrated in the Material Editor. That would opens up a big can of extra possibilities, for example if you move a texture from one folder to another, the material editor could inform you whether the texture is used in one or more materials and update them. Ideally, it would do this across scenes, but that's stretching it a bit. |

Sub folders?? Yes. Definately. Currently it's a stretch to find (scroll down too) all my folders. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
