well, each time i weld points i have a box saying ' x point welded '
i have to puch ok to continue.
it's a bit anoying to alway select points>weld>go to the box>click ok> go select points etc...
please add an option to enable/disable information popups. as i agree that it can be important to have such information when welding parts that need to be prudent with a lot of points involved
also we need a way to add shortcut to tools
like weld / scale/ rotate etc.. maybe reserve all the [alt]+[keys] for user created shortcuts as there's only 2 or three predefined shortcuts using the alt combination.
also pressing return may validate the curent tool settings and performe the operation instead of click ok with the mouse |

There are hotkeys for most commands, see the wiki. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

it's just my feeling about the use of deled so i already know that there's already shortcuts
setting up our shortcuts is a thing that may be implemented (or not) .
instead of making all commands having a shortcut maybe a shortcut to
'redo last command' will just be good
maybe maped to alt+r
thinking about commands that have parametres like 'weld'
look at my car model for exemple, the wheels have spikes, to make the spike i used the connect comand on the 2 outside cylinder to have boxes , then i extruded one box of two then i welded each extruded face's points to have them forming the spike
to weld each box i have to select the 4 points of the face then click on weld, modify the parameter , click ok on the edit panel then click ok on the popup then select the next face to weld then click ok in the edit panel etc...
isn'it better in term of usage of deled to select the 4 points select weld, modify the parameters if needed, click ok. (no more popup to click ok)
select the next 4 points, press alt+r , select 4 points press alt+r etc...
for repeting task it'll be a real good improvement for deled and more user friendly. |

Good point about the Welding info getting in your way. Adding a specific option for this behaviour in the command frame feels a bit like GUI cluttering... let's see if we can think of a way to show this information in a less obstructive way (like a popup balloon, tooltip, or any other element that doesn't require a user-action to go away). There might be more informational user messages that could be displayed that way.
You are also right about how it would be nice to just hit the return key to confirm an action, however... it's a focus thing. If you manualy focus the command properties first it does work. Making the enter work globally is tricky, because in a multi-window application like DeleD many things could be waiting for confirmation at the same time. As an example, imagine trying to rename a primitive inside the Object Inspector while having the Weld tool open, you wouldn't want enter to suddenly weld half of your geometry.
That's said, the fact that is isn't entirely trivial doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed. Keyboard convenience is important. Writing it down. |

you are also missing the "redo" button, undo is ctrl-z and redo is almost always ctrl-y. Sometimes I click crtl-y and deled moves to restrict to Y-axis. _________________ Chickens RULE | www.elementrix.nl |

the redo last command i describe is a good alternative to the 'enter key' i described in my first post.imho and don't have the behavior to interfere with focus thingy. as programmer i'll go this way instead |

You don't have to go to box to click ok as the ok button is active when it comes up, just hitting enter does it.
I do agree it tends to put you off flow, maybe it could go on the bottom of the screen. Like the other info display boxes that don't need to change.
The thing that gets me most times is that some of the option settings inputs remember what you chose last time and some don't. Its always the one i want to remember that goes back to default( glad of undo button then ) maybe they could all be set to operate one way or the other. |

that's weird, I have never seen any program that uses that. for example: paint.net uses ctrl-y. I tried crtl-shift-z in paint.net and found a fantastic option, Thanks!

I wanted to verify it on some programs but most of those I have here do in fact use CTRL+Y I had CTRL + SHIFT + Z in mind for some reason, I know there is a program that uses it as redo but I can't recall which one it is. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

I always look for that number of vertices MessageBox. Sometimes, you don't get the results that you think you do. It's very helpful. |

sure but in certain case, it's anoying.
like have to reply ok to 200 vertice weld
the more deled will be flexible the more we'll enjoy using it
the redo command i talk about is more a DO AGAIN than a redo as redo simply redo things that we had undo.

you can just weld alot of vertices by one click why would you do it in 200 clicks? _________________ Chickens RULE | www.elementrix.nl |

well 200 is a bit exagerated but for exemple
if you have equaly spaced vertice and you need to weld them by pair you can't select them all and tell deled to weld them as the result could be inpredictables...
so you have to go, pair by pair |

I totally agree. More often than not I use that window to catch errors - even when its supposed to be a large amount of vertices. Generally when I weld, I try and have a general idea of the number that should be welded and more often than not I've picked up on errors that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. |

Yes you can. This is what the distance is for. Enter a value for the distance, select all vertices and those vertices that are within that distance will be welded. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it
