Is a pre viz/machinima/3d film making/pre production programme that works well with DeleD. It's worth having a look.

There's a free base pack available.

This is great, thanks alot, now I can make small movies of my area's and maybe a trailer for El Ementrix? Very Happy

i'll check it out, but what I see on their site is very promising. Would also be cool If we could actually animate the camera in DeleD 2.0 Wink

Elementrix, it should be relatively easy to make your trailer. I worked in DeleD, exported the file, converted it, imported it into Antics and made it into a small simple movie where a guy walks from one end of the halls to the other, with four cameras tracking him all the way, within a couple of hours.

Antics does have a learning curve but the good thing is that there are video tutorials that show you the basics.

I also started a topic on the Antics site informing Antics users about DeleD ("A new pipe for your line", this topic in the "Antics Pub" section informs people about the process of getting the two programs to work together).

I tried it out, but I'll get into it later.
What we need now is a 3DS. Exporter. That would make it more comfortable.

The process is this:

Create the model in DeleD and then export as an obj file.

Convert the object file to fbx file using the free Autodesk converter.

Import into Antics and resize. (Antics can import 3ds, fbx and bvh directly.)

I then created an Antics room the same shape as the model floor. You can create and edit rooms quite easily in Antics. I placed the Antics room ground at the same level as the imported model ground then hid the Antics room. Voila! the character then walks about as directed only it looks like they are walking on the imported model.

For 600$, you might as well buy Carrara or Lightwave.

They have a free version, which seems to be able to also make videos.

I know they have a free version too.

Can you actually create animations and export them out?

Okay, you got that one for free, but next time I am abusing my mod powers and deleting any mentions of BlUnder. jk

The program seems to have nice capabilities. Especially when it comes to interacting with scene objects. But I'm not interesting in it as a dead end, real time movie maker. Confused

Blender is the epitome of all things evil.

I started in Blender (with marginal success), and now after experiencing 3DS and DeleD, I feel like I'm being force choked when I just open up Blender.

I have Carrara (Free from a magazine) and Lightwave (bought on a special crossgrade offer.) The difference with Antics is that it's instant.

Yes you can make your own animations with the base pack. The base pack does quite a lot, including output at hi def.
