Yeah one question if you are building a tunnel into a wall how do you delete the parts of the wall thats inbetween the arch? |

Well, you create first an eclipse that is so big like the Arch and subtract the eclipse from the wall. I think...
Besides, cool tutorial! I was searching for something like that.

It should just be a simple matter of connecting the bottom edges of a wall, moving them into position, and connecting some vertices to make convex polygons that render properly. Alternatively, subtraction is a perfectly valid move, especially with the low poly routines coming in 1.4 (so you can optimise the mesh, and get rid of the excess polygons generated by CSG). |

Oops. I Just noticed that one or the vertex near the top was not adjusted giving it a large flat line. Anyone using this please pull it back a little to making the arch look much better. _________________ "Do or do not. There is no try."

hi, i tried to do the tutorial but I'm having problems at:
"Select all the bottom polygons, by drag selecting in the front view window, and delete them."
I cannot select just the bottom polygons. Whenever I try it selects either none or the whole torus...
Any help appreciated |

maybe going into "polygon mode" would help? (in the right top of the screen, the triangle).
If you can only select the whole object, or none, it looks like you are in object mode.
EDIT: you first need to select the whole object in object mode, then go to polygon mode and select the polygons you want to delete.

when i am doing this it will create a flat surfaced torus, i have tried changing the settings and extruding but it didnt work, is this meant to be happening.
I am also confused by

Use the 3D window to pick all the polygons on one side of the mesh, and delete them.

any help is appreciated..
p.s. should i try and get the pro version of DeleD |

Hello there lucifer, welcome to these forums!
Can you explain in detail what you're trying to do?
About the 3D window: the quote means to say that polygons that would be invisible in the final mesh should be deleted. In other words: keep your mesh as clean as possible. You can select polygons in the 3D view just like you can in any 2D view. Using the 3D view is sometimes easier though because you can see the mesh from different angles.
About buying PRO: I would suggest you try LITE a little more. Get some experience, see if you like it and then make the decision to buy PRO or not. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

very interesting, i've never extruded edges before, i only extrude poligons.
didn't even know one could extrude edges. nice tut.
i wouldn't have done it the same way, but that's a matter of taste. |
