Subtraction making a hole? how to fix?

-When i want to subtract to make a window like the ones you see beneath

it just makes a hole right through with no window socket thing...help?

That probably means you've got inner-polygons in your object. Remember: CSG routines heavily depend on clean geometry. If you try to create a hole in, for example, a simple cube, you will see it works perfectly.

You need to examine your object closely and remove any overlapping or inner-polygons. Also make sure vertices are welded whenever you can.

Having my pc fixed Wink

Ok...I'm modelling a house...and I tried to make a window with substract command...(It worked ok in other walls)...so I got this:




When it should look like...this (wall in front of the bugged one) :



the geometry was the same for both (I mean the thing to be substracted)

Make sure the faces aren't just facing the wrong way. Check this by turning off culling. Then either flip them one by one, or if they aren't there, copy them from a copy window and paste them.
