|
|
I have created some test level to test the game engine that i have being doing for some time.It has support for portals so I have created the map compiler from deled format into my own level file format. It is finished so I will upload it if anyone wants to use it.Format is pretty simple(it is in the ASCII format similar to the doom3 .proc files).
But enough of that, here is the pictures of the level. It's not done yet, just the quick build to keep it simple. It will grow with time
Hope you like it.
cheers

Nice start! I think the light alpha is a little over-done -- tone it down to a quarter of the opacity it has now, and it will look a lot better IMO. |

If the light is really coming from the hole like that, you shouldn't have a fully lit room. You should have one really bright light above the hole (like 200-400), and then put a point light on the ground under the hole and set it real low, like 50 to simulate the light that would bounce off that spot on the ground and light the rest of the room, but just barely. _________________

Also, your firelights should not be leaving such harsh ovals on the pillars, it looks really unnatural.
The model is nice. What is the hole in the roof for? You designed the room where it's obvious that the hole was put there during construction of the room, and the sunlight was meant to shine down on something, but it's just empty floor in the middle of the room. _________________

yes I plan to put something int the middle of the room. It's just that I have no idea what it should be
Maybe a statue, a coffin, who knows. I'll figure it out eventually.
As of the lights, I know they're leaving sharp edges, I will need to play with the light properties some more. _________________ Can't wait to return to my beautiful Croatia. I hate New York, just hate it! |

Looking good. The sunlight shoudl probably stand out a bit more, since it's the focal point of the image, but that lighting is already 10x better than the previous posts. _________________

I would suggest something like this for the light beam texture:
and alpha=
and if you prefer it squared:
and alpha= |
