Ok so I decided to make a medieval city. But not a normal flat city, NO! I wanted it to be more exiting, So I decided to create a medieval city on a mountain flying in the air Very Happy

Because I really want it to be a city there will be over a hundred buildings. But If I would need to make over a hundred buildings one by one I would kill myself and I don't want to do that so I decided to make somekind of building set with different windows and doors with which I can quickly produce different buildings.

ok enough talk here are some images of my progress so far:

1. moddeled most of the building piece's:

2. a test to see what you can make with it:

3. Uvmapping it all (all the piece's are on one 1024x1024 texture and I have space left for more):

4. Started texturing (those few ugly stones are deleted:)):

5. Decided to make the windows transparant and testing some night colors:

6. UVmap so far:

7. First house's placed:

8. Overal view and started painted the buildings layout:

9. Got an idea to make a planetarium/observatory on top of the city so I doodled around with a design (not sure about it yet though)

10. placed a few placeholder houses on the layout design:

Now you guys have seen enough:P but I'll update as much as possible so you can see how I build up such a city.

(oh there will be flying medieval ships around the city / and clouds)

I also got the idea to release all the building block piece's after the compo is finished Wink

I really like the 1024x1024 full scene texture. I was thinking of doing that with the last scene I've been posting in my thread.

well it's not only one 1024x1024 for the entire scene, the stone texture is a tileable texture and it's pretty hard to get that without seams within that 1024, So some textures will be seperate like the roof and wall.

Also you should see this as a challenge, I just raised to bar a little, isn't it a COMPETITION.

EDIT: Btw how do you work those prefabs things? Do you just make your rough building shape and put some of those peices on?

First I place a place holder building like you see in the last screenshot, and then I look at the measurements and just build a building with those measurements.

oh and yes I make everything myself

Why are you guys thinking he is going to get first? This isn't a contest to see who has the most polygons. It's about creativity. You still have almost 2 months left.
