|

Unless I am missing something, the subdivide ability when creating a cube does not subdivide all three directions, only two. It doesn't matter which view I draw it in (top, front, side), it never subdivides one of the dimensions.
And with my luck, it's the dimension I needed . I ended up rotating the object. But very soon, I will need it to be able to subdivide in all three directions.
Just to note, I need it subdivided so the built-in lighting functions in DirectX look better.

You are right Dr. Zoop and I was wondering when someone would finally step forward and mention it. I never got around to fix that particular problem but alas, it will be fixed when I start enhancing the low-polygon functions. I'll keep you posted! |

How soon could this be fixed? For what I'm doing, the sooner, the better. It's hard to test lighting when you're restircted to only seeing it work in two of the three dimensions of space!

Okay, better question: Will this be fixed in 1.0 (or whatever the next version is)? If so, when is that version going to come out? Doesn't have to be an exact date, just, "soon," "a month," "many months," "a year," "many years," "not in YOUR lifetime mister!"
Hehe, I can't tell you how many times I've misjudged release dates on my own stuff...

We put PRO 1.0 online 1 minute and 37 seconds ago, and I can tell you it isn't in there Now that we've got that one going, it's time to go back to adding stuff to DeleD.
I'll leave the actual answer to Jeroen, lowpoly functionality is his department. |

Jeroen says: a month. Within this month I want to add some more lowpolygon functionality as well though (in other words: I don't want to release updates for every little bit of functionality added ). |

Why did I have to run into this tonight? I made an archway over an in wall shelf, and wasted a good 45 minutes tweaking it, and wondering what the big problem with the bottom was... until I noticed there were no edges down there.
Until then, depending on how much of this functionality you need, and how much time available to waste, you can start with a cube, and keep extruding faces. |
