DeleD 2.0 Released!
And finally here it is, DeleD 2.0! We have been working for a long time to get to this release. Why did it take this long? Because we added 2 major new features (animation and raytracing) and enhanced the code very much so DeleD is ready for future enhancements. Here's what we did in detail:
New functionality
- Skeleton animation has been implemented.
- A Raytracer has been added.
- A Bridge tool (Connect for polygons) has been implemented.
- Select Polygons By Material has been made possible.
Changed functionality
- Lots of code has been refactored so DeleD is ready for future enhancements.
- Key bindings have changed - read the Help file for more info!
- The Help file has been updated with new pictures and text.
- The Turn Edge command now works on polygons instead of just triangles. It also keeps the edge being turned selected, making multiple turns much easier.
- User experience when creating a torus or a cylinder has been slightly improved.
- The Vertex Insert tool has been improved. It now places new vertices exactly on the edge instead of near the edge.
- Selecting a color with an alpha < 255 in the Material Editor no longer auto-sets the blendmode to alphablend if it was add or modulate.
Fixed Issues
- Automatic snapping has been enabled in 3D view(s).
- UV editor is no longer falsely restricts movement to the U-axis on startup.
- Export UV Map (UV Editor) options no longer contains the 256 width/height twice.
- Scaling things to zero size by dragging no longer occasionaly results in infinitely large / disappearing geometry or UV coordinates.
We very much want to thank all our testers for helping us to get to a stable 2.0 release. Especially Chronozphere and Mr. Fletcher deserve a praise as they performed the larger part of the test-work. Last but certainly not least, we would like to thank you, dear DeleD user, for your patience. Without you, DeleD would not be what it is today. Thank you!
Now, feel free to download DeleD 2.0 here or visit the DeleD Product Page for more info. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Awesome but you placed the bone mode icon in the wrong place. In my excitement, I already downloaded and gave deled 2.0 a small try. I click the joint button while attempting to go back into object mode.
It looks Great. Works a treat. Thankyou for all the hard work you've put into this. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Seems to me the directional and spot lights are broke. all I get is a black scene after. the point lights work though. And I do hope there is going to an export for the animations eventually, not much point of having it without some type of exporter. And i had a problem shutting the program down too, it froze. |

Quick answers: yes, an exporter is one of the first things we will work on. We'll probably expand our DirectX X exporter. The directional and spot light do show strange behaviour. Their direction is inverted! Will fix a.s.a.p.
However, please post questions or remarks in seperate topics in the DeleD 3D Editor forum. Bug reports go into the DeleD Bug forum. That way we can track any possible problem DeleD 2.0 might have more easily. I removed the posts about issues in this topic just now.
Edit: I fixed the issue with directional and spot lights. PRO users can download the latest version from DownloadeD. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Woo, I animated
Edit: Quick question. I have zero experience/knowledge in animation, but I'm going to be reading up a bit as I put together plans to incorporate 2.0's animation into my jmonkey importer. Can you guys explain this line in the dxs file:
Code: |
<jointLocation id="0" lx="0" ly="0" lz="0" rx="0" ry="0" rz="0" /> |
What are those values? |
