|
|
At first Hi and Hello, ive heard about Deled in a Magazine called "Spieleprogrammierung".
An i was really impressed, when i started Deled. Ive made some maps in counterstrike, but this isn´t my prob
Ive downloadet Milkshape to model with it, but now i read about exporting an importing problems with Deled, because my english isn´t so well, is there some1 who could explain me how to import milkshape 3d files in Deled, ( ive got the Lite version only because i´, just trying to make a little network fps for a friend and me, and still got no 50€ )
And my other question:
How can i use an external Lightmapper for Deled ? ( or do i talk shit now ? )
Sorry for my worse english
Thanks a lot |

You could try 3D Converter, there is a free version but i'me not the free version will cover the file versions you need (i no it exports to DeleD dmf )

Hi MyLee, welcome to these forums!
Don't worry about your english, so far you are perfectly understandable. Let's just agree that if for some reason we don't understand eachother, we ask the other to explain it again in different words, ok
Although Dave gave you a great tip, you don't need any external programs. Milkshape can export a lot of file formats, at the moment DeleD is capable of importing three of those:
1. Blitz Basic 3D
2. Wavefront OBJ
3. Autodesk 3DS
For B3D and 3DS you will need to download the plugin from http://www.delgine.com/index.php?filename=product_plugins&menus=off, the OBJ import plugin comes with DeleD.

About external lightmappers, most of them import .X files. So you would simply create a model in DeleD (only use single-layered materials), export a .X file, load it into the lightmapper, do the lightmapping trick and then figure out a way to load the lightmapper's output.
A nice lightmapping tool is Gile[s]. However, it's not free. Actually, I don't know _any_ lightmapping tool that is free, which one did you plan on using? Isn't DeleD Lite lightmapping good enough for your purpose? |

With "rauhfaser tapete" you mean the rough white (or colored) stuff (thick, paint-like but with grains in it) you put on your walls, right? I don't know the correct english translation for it, but I used to have Raufaser on my own walls
I don't think you would model it, just try making a texture out of it. I think a rauhfaser look would be very do-able by using Normal Mapping on a single-color base texture. Unfortunately, DeleD doesn't help you much as far as normal mapping goes, you will have to apply it yourself in your fps code.
What engine do you plan on using? Are you trying to model your own house for the fps? |

Ive try to make a whole world, started with a simple house, than a simple street with simple houses, and so on =)
My knowlegde about engines is real for dummies but i can read and learn.
In this magazine that i buy, they talk about the IRRLICHT Engine, and i think i would try it with this one.
-
I dont wanna buy lightmapper progs or something else because im a nooby and never would make money with my stuff, i just do it for fun, and to share fun with my friends. The Lightmapper from Deled isnt bad, but i could only lightmap the entire scene, and than there are some problems with my textures
( i would make a screenie if i where on my comp, i will do make a screenshot so u can see what i mean but this take some time. means: when im at home )
If its possible i would use the internal Lightmapper from Deled but i think i don´t really know how to use it
i had read all the Tutorials and Posts in this Forum, didn´t understand everything. But it makes fun to learn by doing. |

Now that's something I'm interested in. "Spielprogrammiering" is the exact name of the magazine? And in what issue was spoken about DeleD? I'm going to try to get myself a copy. |

Talking of getting magazines, did you ever manage to get a copy of PC Format issue 162? |

Yes I did! It was rather expensive but well worth it. I'm trying to collect every magazine that mentions DeleD in one way or another. So if you know of any.... |
