DeleD Community Edition

Hey everyone

I decided to join the PGD annual competition this year and for this game-project I'll make heavy use of DeleD. I've been programming for a couple of weeks, and so far I've made two DeleD plugins that help me generating game content.

My game will be a racing game where you drive a futuristic vehicle through a tunnel. It will be really fast and there will be lots of enemy's, obstackles and explosions.
The DeleD plugins i made help me to build the racing track. This track consists of segments.

You can create segment prefabs (so called SegmentBodies) with the "SegmentGen" plugin, and modify them in DeleD until they look good. The next step is to start the "TrackEd" plugin to build a track with these "Segment bodies". I've written some mathy code to transform and bend these bodies, so that they can form a racing track. I also make heavy use of the Tags to add usefull meta-data which is used by the engine for various tasks.

As you can see, lightmapping really improves the atmosphere inside the tunnel. I'll definitely use it in the game.

I might release the plugins someday, but I dont think they will be very usefull for general-purpose modelling because they are specificly designed for my game. Also, I can't really give any support for them because I've lots of other projects to focus on (for example my UV-plugin, my game-engine, and this game ofcourse).

So, this is what i've been working on this summer. Hope you guys like it. I'll keep you posted.
