|
|
I have just recently started using deled lite, which is a great program. The only reason I haven't bought the full version yet is that the site does not accept Laser cards (only used in Ireland as far as I can tell) and at the moment this is my only choice for online payments.
Anyway, after I create some content and put in some light. I generate the lightmaps for the entire level. This then shows within the editor in 3d view. However, I then export it (either as .dmf or .b3d) for use with the Irrlicht engine and the lightmaps don't seem to be saved anywhere. I looked under the content folder under DeledLite/contentname/textures and the lightmap folder is not created. Is this simply because I am using the lite edition? The lighting is also not found when I restart Deled and load up my file.
I tried a search but couldn't find anything to answer my question but I apologise if it has come up before. Thanks guys! |

Look in: "deledLight/textures/lightmaps/ " and you'll find the lightmap folder.
The lightmaps aren't exported outside the texture folder. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

hi trucker, thanks for getting back to my question. The lightmap folder doesn't seem to created? And as i said, its not just the irrlicht engine. Deled says they are missing too when i load my file up again after a restart. |

That's odd. Hopefully Jeroen will see this. I've never used the light version. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Oh yes, I saw this - I'm here every day.
@alittlelost: it's odd indeed. The lite version should save the lightmaps too. For each scene, a seperate directory is made in the lightmaps folder. This should contain the lightmap BMP files.
What happens if you try to create a new scene, save it, then create the lightmaps, and then save again? _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

It might be in the shadow folder.

Yeah, if you use Vista this will happen to you. It's annoying to no end (I *still* can't find that folder on my system, I think it may be hidden...but I haven't been using DeleD enough for modeling recently to warrant that much of a search heh).
It would be nice for future versions of DeleD to make a Data folder in the user's documents directory. I'm sure Windows 7 does this to people too, so sooner or later moving that sort of content out of the program files directory would have to happen. |
