|
|
Hi All,
I've finished my DBO export plugin for DeleD, (I'm just testing it), so I think you'll know more about it in the next days.
For the moment I just say that I write a little DBOexport.exe with DarkBasic Professional 5.7 and the I pass all DeleD data to it with plugin Dll.
You know that DBO file format is in continue evolution and can store more information about an object just like: ghost etc...
I'll post news and screenshot here, so Bye |

|
|
Hi All,
I think I'll delay a little bit this plugin release, cause I've found some conversion troubles.
DeleD primitives works really well, but biggest files work just in part.
I've also noticed that DeleD .x exported files (I produce a very similar X file) have the same problems with DBO conversion using Rob K DBO conversion tool.
Anyway I'll investigate this troubles, it's maybe due to X file version format, or some commands not interpreted well by DBPro (in fact the X file is not well interpreted too), I've also tried some DeleD .X files with 3D Canvas, and they're not interpreted well too.
Please be patient while I'm solving these troubles.
Bye
Salvatore
This is a file that works (a terrain made with my Advanced Landscape Plugin and then exported to Dbo with dbo exporter plugin)
Anyway for the moment you can use Rob K x to dbo converter, and if you can't wait for me fixing dbo troubles, send me an e-mail and I'll let you have my beta version (It's a big file 2.4Mb zipped). |

|
|
Hi All,
In Games Creators newsletter I've found the announcement of publication of new DBO file header, so I'll publish this plugin after changes, anyway owing to the fact it uses a X converter and then it convert X file to DBO I've discovered that it can't export very well prefabs. While It will exports really well other objects.
I'm looking in this to understand what's the real trouble (number of vertices, duplicated vertices for UV or ...... ), so be patient.
I'll eventually use the binary format instead of text one.[/b] |

Hey Il Buzzo, if you have a website do you think you could post it there? Me and some of my friends can't get it because our e-mail won't accept a file that Big. By the way what Programming language are you using for your plugin? |

Hi,
I'm using C++ (MinGW g++ with Dev-Cpp).
If you're interested in C++ creation of DeleD plugins you can read the little tutorial, that I've written.
I haven't moved this file on my site owing to the fact it doesn't work well with DeleD prefabs.
So if you use not prefabs but just DeleD primitives It will work.
Anyway if you can't wait for a complete version let me know and I'll put a version on my site.
(Note that DBO format will change soon.)
Bye |

Hi II Buzzo!
It's great to see you're still busy with coding DeleD plugins. We've been very busy with the 1.0 release and when we're done (this weekend!) I want to make a start with various plugins also.
One of the things I'd like to develop is a DBO exporter. But I see you've started working on one of those too! No problem of course. I'd like to know if you need any help or if you intend to stop working on the DBO exporter. If so, I will start development of one myself. Let me know! |

Taking that route would also eliminate the ability to do multitexturing... Which would also eliminate the ability to do light mapping... |

Hopefully multiply layers of textures so we can use lightmaps in DB, and being DBs native file format it'll load quicker. Probably about it |

Can a .dbo be loaded into DBC or just DBP? |

I'm not sure about DBC, you'll have to give the DB forums a search. Sorry. |

Hi,
DBO It's just a Dark Basic Professional usable file for the moment.
I don't know if TGC has planned to port to DarkBasic Classic.
Bye. |
