Hey developers,
DeleD still has DMF support. New users might still use it without knowing it's depricated. I did a quick test and it is possible to make a scene containing a skeleton, saving it in DMF format, opening it and loosing your skeleton without knowing what happened. Very bad eh?
So what should we do with DMF?
In my opinion we should show a warning dialog when a user tries saving a scene as DMF. We could eventually delete it from the project (maybe in 6 months or so).
Opinions?
Edit: Just noticed that the DML functionality depends on the DMF code. This makes removing more complicated. Maybe we could create a low priority "feature request" to the tracker, about upgrading the DML format to XML. |

Yep, eventually the DMF format can be removed, if you ask me. DXS has been around for quite some time now so I expect most users to have their scenes in that format. But... assumptions are the mother of all f*ck-ups, so I'm open for more suggestions. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |
