|
|
Hi guys,
Will be open sourcing the plugins (the ones we made at least) somewhere over the next couple of days. Not decided on how to setup the projects at sourceforge. As this is a generic (not deled-specific) development thing, I have opened op a stackoverflow.com question on the topic,
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2239727/how-to-open-source-set-of-plugins
I'm currently leaning towards solution (2), having one separate sourceforge project for all our plugins combined, but I invite you all to share your thoughts on the topic... either here or on stackoverflow (or both). Thanks! |

Seems like a good idea.. It's maintainable and you have all the plugins in one place. However, we must make some categories in the tracker for the different plugins, otherwise it'll become a mess.
BTW: Would it be easy for me to add the NashaUV source to that repository? I'm thinking about opensourcing it aswell. |

Good point. And yes, we'll definitely make it easy for third party plugin writers to donate their code, I'd love to see your NashaUV plugin available there.
If we can't setup commit rights at the individual plugin levels (I have my doubts SourceForge SVN is that tweakable) you'll just get commit rights to the plugin project as a whole.
I was also thinking we should offer one binary per plugin, but also a "download all" binary package with the latest versions of all plugins. |

The plugins should be in one reporsity. If the plugin interface changes, a shared bug is found or a improvement will be made all plugins will benefit from this.
I also want all of them in one download instead of downloading each seperately. At best they are packaged with DeleD itself unless they are in alpha stage.
I also hope that the plugin interface gets extended at some point to allow better integration of mesh tools and such. But thats a different story. |
