DeleD CE 2.42 Released
After one month of Open Source goodness, here is the new release of DeleD Community Edition. Next release is up in 3 weeks!
Find the files here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/deled/files
Changelog
Added functionality
- Added link to Wiki to the Info menu. (Nocturn)
- Implemented specific move dialog for polygons. The old dialog didn't make much sense and resulted in errors when used on polygons. (Fik)
- The 3D view now offers so-called turn-table rotation, rotating the view around the center point of the selected primitive. Use ctrl+alt+rightmouse to trigger it. (Paul Nicholls)
- A Path primitive has been added. This type of primitive is especially powerful when combined with the Lathe tool. (Paul Nicholls).
Fixes
- Screenshot resolution no longer always defaults to window dimensions. (Chronozphere)
- Merging polygons no longer results in an occasional Access Violation / Driver Error. (Chronozphere)
- Merging polygons now removes any redundant (colinear) vertices. (Chronozphere)
- Moving multiple selected faces (i.e. sets of UV coordinates) in Face Mode now actually moves all the faces and not just the first selected (Fik).
- Merging primitives will maintain their UV coordinates (in stead of regenerating them). (Chronozphere)
- Using the polygon inset tool will maintain UV coordinates (in stead of regenerating them). (Chronozphere)
- The loading progress indicator no longer blocks the application after closing, when DeleD is build on some recent Delphi versions. This fix should only affect developers. (Chronozphere)
Changes
- The dialog confirming the location where screenshots were saved has been removed. |

That's not good. I liked it telling me where it dumped my screenshots. (I never can remember where I put them last, so use it to tell me) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Is it too hard to remember where you saved your screenshots? |

I have the same issue with HP's scanning functionality of my HP printer software (which I use probably once a month or so). It stores its results in some obscure folder deep within the directory structure of the program itself. I never remember where to look. So I can certainly understand trucker's feelings. If you don't make that many screenshots, you might not remember where you put them.
I think this user feedback should be put back in. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Well, DeleD isn't the same. AFAIK it doesn't show obscure folders by default.

Not true, You always decide where to save it, after you made a snapshot.
I don't see reason to add this extra message. First of all, it requires an extra click and secondly you can easily check and change the directory before you click "save". Finally it's just not common-practice to display these messages after the user saved something.
I'd like to know what others think too. |

I like it better when it asks where to save to each screenshot. |

Ah, I forgot DeleD asks for the location prior to saving the screenshot. I thought DeleD saved its screenshots to some default location which could be set in the Options screen. Shows how often I use that functionality.
Agreed, leave it as it is. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

DeleD uses windows own memory to decide where to save a screenshot. I only use deled's screenshot feature once in a while, so I never know which folder it's going to save in. Resetting where the screenshot is going to be saved can be a pita as well. I think I'll start a second repo and merge it back in. I don't mind 1 extra click to make sure I know where my screenshot is going to be saved. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
