Not really a tutorial, just me playing with animations, skeletons etc in DeleD.

The file can be downloaded http://www.working.yourinside.com/assets/Flag.dxs here using Right click, Save As.

Basically, I created a grid, applied a UK flag texture (It's mapped so you can apply any flag texture to it), made a copy of the grid, mirrored it and then merged the two grids. Applied a skeleton along the center axis of the grid, making joints at random intervals. Assigned the vertical groups of vertices to the nearest joint.

Added a animation and proceeded to rotate the joints in random directions along the timeline.

Total project time (excluding getting the texture) 5 minutes.

The hosting programme I use, uses Ogre graphics engine, therefore I export using the Ogre Mesh exporter plug-in. I don't see how I can export the skeleton and animation. The hosting platform requires .skeleton .mesh, .material files and presumably an animation file.

Hi trucker2000, you forgot about my ms3d exporter plugin (look in the DeleD plugin section), that does export the animation(s) and skeletons (not completely bug free though).

cheers,
Paul

That's awesome Paul. I noticed a couple of others asking about exporting animations. You guys do great work Smile
