Is there any way to make joints smaller? They are huge and I have to scale way up in order to use them. Is there some field in the options dialog box that I am missing?

Nope, not at the moment, sorry. They're just like the lights prefabs and can't be scaled. This has been requested before - perhaps some developer mind find the time to implement this?
